I'm in a bit of a mess(posted about my first grow a few days ago) something unexpected came up and i have to leave for 2 weeks,obviously i cant take the plants with me,and i really don't want to kill them or let them die! Would a diy 2L bottle self watering system work? Im on a tight budget as well,if anyone has tips or advice,please please please comment!

a long time ago, i had the same problem, and i ended up using (damnit, i forget what it was called exactly) something that looked like gel. i just put it on top of the soil, and it released water slowly.. i'll try to remember what it was called and will post it when i find it..

was it ghost crystals? I have a terantula and they use that as a source of water (sometimes) ,think that could do the job?
