So, I have an appointment this week to qualify for MMJ. I'm very excited, but worried I might not get the recommendation. Any thoughts from the forum? I've been dealing with severe and chronic back pain since 1994 when I fractured my back (L1). I refuse to take pills and have self-medicated with MJ since 1997. I also suffer from anxiety and ADHD. Recently, I was involved in a car accident where I was rear-ended in November 2010. Since the accident, my back pain has worsened. Normal everyday activities always produced back pain, now it is worse. Sleep, job responsibilities, sex with my wife and normal every day activities are affected from my back pain.
Couple of questions...
How do I know my case is legitimate and sincere and will qualify for MMJ? If I really wanted to have pills prescribed I could have made a case for it and received Rx for them. However, I refuse to take pills. I have done so in the past. My body develops a high tolerance pills and will demand more to take the pain away if I continue to use pills.
I have not brought this situation to my family doctor's attention in the past other than telling him I have back pain every day of my life. However, I have self-medicated, so there really wasn't a need to imply that I needed treatment for my back. Now that Prop 203 in Arizona passed I would like to medicate legally. Where I am now in my career and raising children that are dependent on my income, the risk is now too high to self medicate. Will this go against my claim for needing a recommendation because I haven't really "fussed" about my back pain?
My family doctor refuses to prescribe MMJ, so I am going to a screening center. How will the screening doctor know in one evaluation I qualify for MMJ?
Thanks in advance for the advice and information. And, I look forward to building a compassionate friendship with the members of this forum in need and support MMJ.
