I've heard you can do it. I think you would need to make some MJ butter first and then add that to the tea. You'll need the oils to take and trap the TCH from the leaves. It might work If you boiled the leaves in a cream and used the cream with your tea....

I hate to tell you this but the components of the plant you are after are not water soluble. For Tea and Coffee a tincture would be your best bet. I have done it one time and while it worked great it seemed quite wasteful at the same time. The one I did was with pure grain alcohol and plant matter in a Mason jar for 30 days. The biggest problem I had with it is the amount of alcohol I could not recover from the plant matter. (some sort of press would come in handy)
Good luck

Good advice OpenSpaces! IF you soaked marijuana in wine, would it draw out the thc? I would imagine the after product would taste a lot like tea, and probably make you feel really nice! I like my wine and my weed....wondering if they would like each other! =)

It is my understanding that a room temperature, soaked, tincture should be done with the highest proof alcohol available to you in your area. Instead of wine try a 100 proof Brandy or Cognac. 151 proof Rum would be better with Everclear being the top choice if you are shopping at the liquor store. Your local pharmacist might be able to provide you with something better but maybe not.
Heat rendered Tinctures can be made using things other than alcohol and still be water soluble. It is important to remember here that the medium of the Tincture is what we are talking about when we say water soluble and the process of making the Tincture breaks down the compounds you are looking for. Hot water on its own will not break down the thc and cbn's that you are looking for. While some of these compounds will still be absorbed it will be wasteful to the extreme.
I do not remember where I saw it but there was a great thread on a glycerine based tincture done in a crock pot that could work for you and the glycerine could be stirred into most anything. (as an example, glycerine based tincture rendered into warm honey and the honey goes into or on top of anything you might desire) I am personally playing around with it for making single dose, easy application, candies.
I am no expert here by any means but I have studied the subject for a while now and have tried more than one method. I am happy to share personal experience but do understand that while I am an engineer my degree is not in bio chemistry.
Hope this helps

This thread reminds me of a conversation I had a while back with an old coworker. The would use tequila and marijuana as a way to treat sore muscles.
He said his family back in Mexico would soak marijuana in tequila for a long period of time. THC was absorbed into the tequila. They would then rub tequila into sore muscles before bed.
I tried doing a search online to see if I can find more information, but I keep getting links to a Manu Chao song. - Fun song...but not what I wanted.

I would think a good homemade cactus juice would be great for tincture. The stuff we get over the counter here in the states runs about 70 proof which is borderline for this purpose. If you can buy it where you live Everclear works great and is not that bad on the taste buds when mixed with something.
1/2 teaspoon of the liquid under the tongue works well also but it is definitely an acquired taste.
My ex used to get awful tooth aches and I would dip out a tablespoon of the plant matter into a napkin and it would kill the pain when applied directly to the tooth and gum. Burned like a bitch at first if there was an abscess but it would clear it right up.
I think we may have hijacked buddha's thread but this is a topic I have long found interesting.

damn!
that sucks, although i kinda figured that boiling buds in water might transfer the taste to the tea, but not the thc.. ;(

buddha: you can always do food grade glycerine (16 oz from any whole foods store) and an ounce of bud for 24 hours in the crock pot on its lowest possible setting. (not to go above 190 if I remember)
The heat breaks down the compounds into the glycerine and the glycerine is soluble in warm water like coffee and tea. There are no soluble issues with the goodies you are after at this point as they are already broken down and hanging in the glycerine. Anything that breaks down the glycerine (most any liquid hot or cold) absorbs the thc and cbn by proxy.
You can get where you want to go just not in a single step.

i'm told that you can do this if you brew with some cream or milk so that the fat in that attracts the thc.
