Hey
Hi all. Let's see...I'm gonna guess I'm about as atypical as a forum member could be here. Smoked daily for...15 years(?) ending in 1987. Used to only deal in what we called "exotics". Thai sticks, Columbian & Acapulco Gold (Santa Marta red-gold was a fav), and then "Sinse" (Ca/HI). So I've smoked maybe 5 times in 20 years. However, a grower friend just gave me some "White Rhino". I thought he just made that up until I googled it and found this site. I tried it, and it made me very paranoid. Of course, since I'm not someone who *should* be smoking, I guess paranoia/racing heartbeat/etc is "normal." And, since I never smoke, I wonder if this stuff is all that, or whould I get that wasted off *anything*? Now I see all these different strands, and reviews on all of them. Cool stuff...but is there really that much differnce in the highs? I mean, it's all THC, right? I see descriptions of various kinds of highs...why would one strand(brand??) cause less paranoia than another...or does it? And, while I don't think I'll start smoking again (I'll find some alone time and kill this WR off), I'm curious as to how things work these days. I mean, how does one request "White Widow" or any of the other wild looking things you have here from your local dealer? (Not looking for specifics). Also, I read things like: "Today's pot is 500x stronger than years ago/etc"...how true is that? I mean, we had "one-hit" stuff back in the day...how does one do 1/500th of a hit?Rolleyes

RE: Hey
welcome to the board!

the biggest difference is indica vs. sativa.. indicas have a higher CBD content, while sativas have a higher THC content / ratio.

Well...sounds like if I were to smoke, it should probably be Sativa. Oh...dude also gave me a WR brownie, which I probably should've eaten a smaller portion of.Rolleyes

Another lesson learned back in the day (BITD in future posts...since most of my *experience* is BITD) and forgotten. There used to be a "drought" on the east coast every summer, and the only smoke we'd get was crappy "blonde Lebanese hash". Thought I was immune to it untill I ate a gram or so and went to work and wound up needing stitches when I tried juggling a ginormous knife.Blush

In CA now. May have to look into the grow section in spring. Course, I can't even grow a decent tomato (yet weeds grow right through my cement.)
