Sativa or Indica???

I am kind of a newbie and I am just wondering how to tell the difference between Sativa and Indica... Can u tell by just looking at it, or do u have to smoke it to be able to tell the difference???

Usually, you can tell by both the way it looks and the way it smokes.

Some general characteristics are:

Indica - shorter plants, fatter leaves, heavy stone
Sativa - taller plants, skinnier leaves, uplifting high, often fruity smell and taste

You can try and get a Sativa/Indica mix, as that would probably be what you are looking for. However, it's not like everyone has a choice as to what they get, so that can be a problem.
I know how you feel when it comes to opiates. I chose marijuana as medicine over opiates most of the time. I just wish I could chose my perfect strain
